Protecting High-Risk Los Angeles Neighborhoods: A Wildfire Coordination Initiative

In conjunction with UCLA AUD, the Berggruen Institute, LA City Fire Department, other first response agencies we are organizing a series of Creative Assemblies to develop a wildfire prevention and mitigation plan to help protect high-risk neighborhoods. The collaborative, inclusive assemblies encourage residents to share their concerns in order to create a thorough understanding of the vulnerabilities that communities face with potential wildfires in their neighborhoods.

Based on the information collected during the workshops, we prepare recommendations: action plans and other information of value, to improve public safety, property protection, and agencies' responses for residents living in the Santa Monica Mountains Wildland Urban Interface.
